Fall 2006: Participated in the Santa Clara Bronco Classic winning consolation backdraw matches over Oregon's Marcos Verdasco, Kevin Kaiser of Stanford, and Bryce Cooper of Gonzaga. Reached the Round of 32 of the Wilson/ITA Northwest Regional Championships defeating Gabe Kanzelmeyer of Nevada and John Pettit of Cal Berkeley before losing to University of Washington's Andy Kuharszky 7-5, 7-6. Looks to be a major contributor for the team in the spring of 2007. Goals for the season are to stay healthy and injury free, keep improving his mental game and fitness, competing to the best of his ability in matches, and help his teammates improve as well.
At USF 2005-2006: Was a major impact for the Dons in his first season. Playing primarily #3-5 in the starting lineup went 14-9 in dual match competition. Had wins over Santa Clara's Bobby Rasmussen, Saint Mary's Achim Christner, Reyniere Roxas of LMU, and Derrick Lajola from University of Hawaii. In doubles play went 13-6 in dual match competition.
Personal: Born on May 1, 1987 in Binh Duong,Vietnam. Parents are Son Tu and Anh Chung. Has two brothers Hein and Thai. Was ranked #1 in the Boy's 14's, 16's, and 18 and under for USTA/Northern California. In 2001 was the NCS Doubles Champion as a freshman teaming up with Daniel Elefant who is a current member of the UC Davis Men's team. Captured the 2005 NCS Singles Title as a senior and was voted the 2005 Athlete of the Year from the Alameda journal. Is a graduate of Alameda High School and is currently a sophomore accounting major.
