Complete Santa Clara Open Results in PDF Format
The USF Track and Field teams competed in the Santa Clara Open on Saturday at West Valley College in the final weekend of competition before the Independent Conference Championships. The men were led freshman Ravi Amarawansa, who led from start to finish in the 1600m finishing with a time of 3:58.34, only .08 tenths of a second away from his personal best. In the men's 800m the Dons got personal bests from freshmen Colin (1:56.48) and Devin Hopkins (1:57.08) and in the men's 3000m senior Cheyne Inman won with a time of 8:51.12. For the women freshman Gabriel Harrington set a new school record while winning the 100m with a time 12.71, beating her old record of 13.43. Sophomore Michelle Born won the 3000m with a time of 10:01.71. In the women's 800m the Dons swept the top three spots led by freshman Nicole Bowler (2:20.75), then fellow freshmen Hannah O'Neal (2:21.14) and Arianna Edwards (2:21.95).
